About Program Director

TADSAW FOUNDER ~ BART SHERWOODBart has been a registered pharmacist for thirty five years. He has owned his own business for twenty years, in San Antonio, Texas. He has two children and one grandson. He lives east of San Antonio on an eighty acre ranch and raises thoroughbred race horses. The ranch is a haven for wounded warriors and their families, when they come for a picnic, a visit with Bunky (the therapy buffalo), feed carrots to the horses, or to just find peace, far away from the battlefield and hospitals, while fishing in one of the three ponds.

The ranch also provides temporary foster homes for TADSAW SERVICE DOGS IN TRAINING, once they are pulled from a rescue shelter and evaluated viable for the program.

Bart has been involved with TADSAW since its inception. He is passionate about the wounded warriors and knows that he has found this to be the most rewarding thing he has ever done.
He lives with his personal dog Harry, who tolerates the dozens of foster dogs that come and go. Harry is a perfect example of inspiration for warriors visiting the ranch, as he is an amputee. Also in the household is, "The Colonel, " a rescue German Shepherd that was hit by a car, ultimately lost his leg and taken to be euthanized. A rescue jumped in at the last minute and saved him and now Colonel, the second amputee living at the ranch, is the first TADSAW THERAPY DOG AMBASSADOR in the United States.

TADSAW is Bart’s life. 24/7 he is on call for 'his' warriors. They do and always will come first. He was in the right place at the right time and now is doing the right thing for all the right reasons.
